| Brian Vickers won his first Nextel Cup event today at Talladega Super Speedway after contact from him took out the two front runners. A slight bump from Vickers sent Johnson into Earnhardt and both cars went around opening the door for Vickers to the finish line. Hamlin overcame an early spin and flat tire that tore up the rear fender and still had the fastest car on the race track when it was all over.
