Bill Lester -  Homestead-Miami Race Preview

Bill Lester
Bill Davis Racing Event Preview

Race/Date:      Ford 200- Nov 17, 2006

Location:      Homestead-Miami Speedway-Homestead, Fla.

NOTES:

* This week's race truck for Homestead-Miami Speedway is Chassis No. 22-89.  Truck No. 89 last saw action two weeks ago at the Texas Motor Speedway where Lester brought it across the finish line in the 21st spot.

* Season Finale … Bill Davis Racing is pleased to welcome Waste Management back as the primary sponsor of the No. 22 Toyota Tundra team this weekend in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  This will be the sixth time this season the Waste Management colors have adorned the hood of the No. 22 Tundra.

* What a Year…  Bill Davis Racing has had a banner year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.  The organization has won six races, or 25 percent of the races held this season.  The team's eight pole positions means a BDR truck has led the field to the green flag in 30 percent of the events.  Lester's teammate, Johnny Benson, leads the series in top-five finishes (13) and top-10 finishes (17).  His other teammate, Mike Skinner, has led a series-best 870.45 miles and is hoping for his ninth consecutive top-10 finish this weekend.

* Top Five Finish…  The No. 22 team earned its most recent top-five finish at the newly configured Homestead-Miami Speedway one year ago.  The team qualified on the outside of the front row and finished fifth.

* Listen and Watch … The Ford 200 is scheduled to start at 8:05 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 17.  It will broadcast LIVE on Speed (TV), MRN (radio) and XM Radio.

Crew chief Doug Wolcott on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

"Homestead is such a nice racetrack.  It gives the driver an opportunity to search for a line.  If Bill's truck does not run well on the bottom, he can move to the top and not lose any time.  They have really done a great job reconfiguring this track, making it racier.  It is fun for both the teams and the fans.

"We have really run well at the 1.5-mile racetracks this season, and it would be great to end this season on a high note.  Bill has really made some gains this season, and I am proud of all the progress this team has made.  These guys have worked extremely hard to get these trucks competitive, and even though our finishes do not show it, we have been competitive.  I am looking forward to 2007 and trying to get this team their first victory."
